Infant Lead Teacher
Do you light up when a baby reaches a new milestone? We're looking for a nurturing, attentive Lead Teacher to guide our infant classroom — building secure relationships and a safe, developmentally rich environment for our youngest learners.

Infant care & development
Provide attentive, responsive, individualized care — feeding, diapering, sleeping, tummy time, sensory play, and safe-sleep practices
Talk, sing, read, and play intentionally to build motor, language, cognitive, social, and emotional skills
Recognize and respond to each infant's individual cues and routines
Curriculum & classroom leadership
Plan age-appropriate activities and document each child's development and milestones
Guide and support Assistant Teachers and Classroom Assistants; model warm, professional interactions
Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom
Family partnership
Build trusting relationships with parents and guardians
Share daily updates on feeding, sleeping, and milestones with professionalism and care

A nurturing, patient teacher who notices every cue, shows up dependably, and genuinely enjoys caring for babies. Someone organized enough to manage routines and documentation, and collaborative enough to work closely with families, teammates, and leadership — while always keeping children's health and safety first.

At least 18 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience caring for or teaching infants in a group child care or early childhood setting
Understanding of infant development and developmentally appropriate practices
Able to meet Virginia requirements for a classroom Program Leader/Lead Teacher by your start date
Able to pass required background checks and complete employment documentation
Willing to complete required child care, health, safety, and professional development training
Preferred
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
Coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
Previous Lead Teacher experience in a licensed child day center
Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification

This is an active infant classroom role. Candidates must be able to regularly get on and off the floor, sit, stand, bend, reach, and safely lift and carry children, with or without reasonable accommodation.
